The 2004 Annual Scientific
Meeting of the UK Society for Intravenous Anaesthesia was held near Birmingham, at
the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club.
The meeting was attended by 140 delegates,
and was opened by the President, Professor Gavin Kenny. Twelve papers were submitted for poster
display, and Dr Michael Lee was awarded the Prize from Smiths Medical
for his free paper presentation entitled "Accuracy of the TCI Pump
for Ketamine".
Dr Michael Lee, Specialist Registrar in Anaesthesia at Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge,
received the Prize
awarded by Smiths Medical for the best free paper presentation by a
trainee anaesthetist at the Birmingham 2004 Annual Scientific Meeting.
The Prize was presented by Elaine Whittaker, UK Marketing Manager for
Smiths Medical, accompanied by SIVA UK President, Professor Gavin Kenny.
