Datex-Ohmeda

Dr Simon Clarke and Mr Terry CluffEntrants had to identify the three individuals highlighted in the photograph below, then suggest what Dr John Sear might be reading. The competition was won by Dr Simon Clarke, Specialist Registrar in Anaesthesia at Charing Cross Hospital, London, who attended the 2001 Annual Scientific Meeting and Dinner as a guest of Datex-Ohmeda. The three individuals are Professor Gavin Kenny, Mr Malcolm Stewart and Dr Killian McCourt. Nobody guessed what Dr Sear was reading (it remains classified!), but Dr Clarke's winning caption was as follows:

"TIVA - Two InVoluntary Armraisers"
